What a Night.

On May 26th Mark and I officially completed our third year of marriage. And this year, we celebrated with flair. My mother, the adorable Grammy, was kind enough to watch Nash for the night (my first night away from him). The two of them are seriously good friends so we were able to relax knowing he was in the best of hands. Mom, THANK YOU! Since he goes absolutley nuts every time he sees you, it's safe to assume that he had a blast with you. The evening got off to a great start when we ran into my Grandma and Grandpa Holman and Uncle Brad (who all live in Rexburg, Idaho mind you) as well as Aunt Linda, at the St. George temple. I just don't get to see them enough. Running into them, and in such a wonderful place, choked me up a bit. I was thrilled. We then moved on to what would be the best dining experience of our lives. Ever. We don't make a habit of dropping $100+ dollars on dinner, but Mark had some business trade with Scaldoni's, a fabulous restaurant in St. George. The decor was gorgeous and the food was plentiful and superb. Our choices included Hazlenut crusted prawns, Gnocchi, Calamari, Raw tuna with olive/feta pate, Salmon and risotto, Filet Mignon (Mark's eyes literally rolled back in his head when he took the first bite of this) and Chocolate Mousse. Probably the best thing about our dining experience was being able to spend a couple of hours feeling posh and hip (things we are SOO not) and quietly chatting in such a nice environment.
Our Beautiful and Delicious Food.

We drove around and looked at mansions for a bit, then enjoyed a long, relaxing evening at the Comfort Suites (also courtesy of business trade. gotta love it). On a side note, that night I brushed my teeth with Nash's Desitin. It was horrid. Toothpaste and Desitin look identical on the backside. I'm not sure why, but I completed the brushing cycle. The entire time I was thinking, "This is not right.. This is not right..", but I continued to brush anyway. When I was done, and unable to rinse the greasy, gummy mess of "toothpaste" from my brush I figured I'd better check the tube. That's when I made the sad discovery. The taste is still not entirely gone, but I think the thick coating has been scrubbed from most of my teeth.
Ready to head home. Well rested, well fed, and just happy:
On our way out of town, we came across this house:

And I was PUMPED! My friend, Megan Jones Visser, showed me this house about 10 years ago when we were staying at a cabin in Leeds with a bunch of friends. The yard is filled with all sorts of creatures made from wire. Impressive. It made my day to see this place again.

I just have to finish by saying that I thank my lucky stars every day that for some crazy reason Mark felt good about marrying me. He for SURE got the raw end of the deal. He is better than me in every way. Nice muscles (I'm a weakling), hard working (I'm typically lazy), beautiful skin (I haven't yet outgrown my teenage acne), a complete GENIUS at any sort of crossword or word puzzle, nintendo or board game (I apparantly have ZERO hand-eye coordination. I'm the worst ever at nintendo and not too savvy with the corssowords). Even so, I know he's sticking with me. Forever. And I love him for it. Here's to 3 great years behind us, and a ton more to come.

Sounds like fun, fancy food. That last paragraph was so funny, but I don't believe any of it.

I am glad you two had so much fun. Crazy that you ran in to Grandma and Grandpa and Brad in St. George of all places.
Oh and I don't think you give yourself enough credit. I am sure Mark would say the same things about you!
